ISE-GA African Research Workshop to take place during the 20th International Congress (virtual) of the International Society of Ethnopharmacology, April 18, 2021

The Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Products Research (GA) and the International Society of Ethnopharmacology (ISE) are jointly organizing an African Research Workshop during the 20th International Congress of the International Society of Ethnopharmacology. The workshop will take place as a virtual event with a view to stimulate the dialogue between African scientists to present and discuss their scientific findings related to natural products research and ethnopharmacology.

At the beginning of the workshop an impulse lecture will be given by Dr. Bertrand Graz, Fondation Antenna, Switzerland, who will discuss “Reverse pharmacology and traditional medicine”. The following short lecture session with researchers working in the field of medicinal plant and natural products will provide an overview on diverse topics related to natural products research conducted in Africa. Two keynote lectures on “Innovative strategies for the efficient isolation of natural products and discovery of potential new leads” (Dr. Emerson F. Queiroz, University of Geneva, Switzerland) and “Regulatory aspects and challenges for the commercialization of natural products” (Prof. Namrita Lall, University of Pretoria, South Africa) will stimulate the scientific discussion.

All interested researchers are cordially invited to join us – the workshop itself is free of charge, however registration to the congress is mandatory. Reduced registration costs apply for ISE- and GA-members. For registration and more information visit https://ethnopharmacology2021.org/.
