GA-Congress 2021: a full success

The first virtual GA-congress took place in September 2021 and was very successful.

We are looking back to a successful Annual Meeting of GA 2021. Although the pandemic forced us to run a completely virtual meeting, we received a very positive feedback with respect to functioning, the platform and most important – the scientific exchange and content. In total about 400 participants, representing 54 countries and 6 continents attended the conference.

We highly appreciate that many people contributed actively and motivated, so that the conference followed our visions. Together, we explored a new setting of our annual meeting. 14 Key note lectures, 34 short lectures, 10 video contributions, about 200 poster contributions, Young Researcher Workshop, Veterinary Workshop and an African Network Session offered a high-level scientific program. Chairs, session chairs, speakers, Scientific Committee, abstract reviewers and the Local Organizing Committee – all together did their best to create a lively atmosphere during the conference.

We know that – despite the distributions of the participants over all time zones – key note lectures attracted between 150 and 200 attendees, as well two parallel short lectures had usually a total of about 150 participants (often distributed nearly equally).

Thus, all contributions were an essential key to a successful and smoothly running virtual GA 2021.

On behalf of GA and the local organizing team we want to express our deepest thanks to those already mentioned, to sponsors for financial support and especially – to all participants, because the meeting was organized to serve and to give a platform to the international GA-family and all scientists interested in the field of medicinal plants and natural products research.

Warm and cordial greetings from virtual Bonn GA 2021, thank you for your support and attendance, looking forward to meeting you in future.
