Bionorica Phytoneering Award

The Bionorica Phytoneering Award acknowledges outstanding research in the field of development and application of phytopharmaceutical products.

The aim of the award is to motivate scientists to perform research in the following areas:

  • pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of herbal medicinal products and their active principles
  • clinical research in the areas of respiratory tract infections, inflammation, women’s health, and metabolic syndrome
  • safety and pharmacovigilance studies.

2023
Athens team for metabolism studies

At the GA conference in Dublin in July 2023, the prestigious Bionorica Phytoneering Award was bestowed to a group of three highly successful female scientists, namely Dr. Eleni V. Mikropoulou, Dr. Theodora Nikou, and her team leader Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Maria Halabalaki in recognition of their excellent research focusing on metabolomic analysis of medicinal plants and their active constituents.
