GA Honorary Membership awarded to Prof. Dr. Michael Popp

The Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research (GA) is proud to announce that Prof. Dr. Michael Popp has been awarded honorary membership of the GA.
This distinction recognizes Prof. Popp’s longstanding commitment to medicinal plant research, phytotherapy and the evidence-based development and use of herbel medicinal products as well as his enduring connection with and exceptional support of the GA over many decades.
Prof. Popp has also served the Society as GA Treasurer, contributing directly to its development and continuity. Throughout his distinguished career, he has successfully combined entrepreneurial responsibility with a strong commitment to independent scientific research, consistently advocating for scientific quality, openness, and collaboration.
His contribution to the GA extends beyond his personal involvement. Through the longstanding support of Bionorica SE, the GA Congresses have benefited from important initiatives promoting scientific excellence and supporting the next generation of researchers, including:
The Bionorica Phytoneering Award, acknowledging outstanding research in the development and application of phytopharmaceutical products.
The Bionorica Early Career Researchers Award, supporting and recognising promising young scientists during the GA Pre-Congress Workshop.

The GA is deeply grateful for this longstanding commitment to our scientific community and we are delighted to welcome him as an Honorary Member of the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research.
