Objective

The Bionorica Phytoneering Award acknowledges outstanding research in the field of development and application of phytopharmaceutical products. The aim of the award is to motivate preferentially young scientists (normally younger than 45) to perform research in the following areas:

  • pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of herbal medicinal products and their active principles
  • clinical research in the areas of respiratory tract infections, inflammation, women’s health, and metabolic syndrome
  • safety and pharmacovigilance studies.

Application

Scientists or research groups of universities and other non-commercial scientific institutions are entitled to apply. Also groups of scientists who will share the award can apply.

Scientific publications on a specific topic which have been published during the last three years can be considered.
They must be submitted together with a CV and a list of publications to the president of GA – Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research Research in electronic form (as pdf-files via email) until a fixed deadline.

Jury

The president of GA – Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research and Natural Product Research appoints at least three independent experts to evaluate and compare the submitted applications.
The jury consisting of the president and the vice-presidents of GA, the editor-in chief of Planta Medica, and a representative of Bionorica SE will decide on the basis of the expertises and select the winner(s).

Bestowal

The Bionorica Phytoneering Award will be bestowed at an appropriate time and ceremony in the course of the annual congress of the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research.

The awarded scientific results shall be presented during the annual congress in a lecture lecture of half an hour.
