Every second year, the BIONORICA Phytoneering Award acknowledges outstanding research in the field of development and application of phytopharmaceutical products.
This year at the GA conference in Naples in August / September 2025, the prestigious Bionorica Phytoneering Award was bestowed to Prof Dr Roja Rahimi in recognition of her outstanding research on natural products linking traditional knowledge and modern medicinal plant pharmacology and the formulation of natural pharmaceutical products. Prof Rahimi thus contributed significantly to herbal medicine innovation, standardization, and clinical research.
Prof Michael Popp, CEO and vice chairman of Bionorica SE, founder of the prize, traveled to Naples especially to present the award, but Prof. Rahimi was unable to attend in person because no visa had been granted. Fortunately, her presentation had been recorded and was presented to a highly interested audience.
