A gratifying high number of abstracts (32) were submitted to this year’s YRW, which shows how well the workshop is received. 13 abstracts were selected by the jury as short talks – all of them were of high scientific quality and were presented enthusiastically.
The workshop had about 50 participants and was chaired by Anastasia Karioti and Robert Fürst and co-chaired by Alessandra Braca and Jürg Gertsch. This year’s impulse lecture was given by Matthias Erb, who spoke in a stimulating way about the function of plant natural compounds in ecological systems.
The two best YRW presentations were awarded two prizes: The Discovery Award (1,000 EUR) went to Laura Peeters (Antwerp, Belgium) and the Bionorica YRW Award (600 EUR) to Tanja Hell (Basel, Switzerland). Congratulations to the award winners, and many thanks to all participants and the jury of this lively and inspiring workshop, who made the YRW 2021 a great success.
